  • 1. FELLOWSHIP FOR SOUTHERN OCEAN EXPEDITION:
  • Participated in the Leg 1 of the BEAGLE 2003 (Blue Earth Global Ocean Expedition) Ocean Experiment in the Pacific Ocean between Brisbane, Australia and Papeete,Tahiti, Aug. 01-Sep. 06, 2003 under the fellowship granted by POGO/IOGGG/JAMSTEC.
  • 2. VISITING SCIENTIST AWARD:
  • Granted by - The International START Secretariat, Washington DC, USA (to visit Bedford Institute of Oceanography, Dartmouth, Canada for a period of 5-6 months between 1996-97). Processing and analysis of ocean colour data from CZCS and sea surface temperature (SST) data from NOAA satellites of waters around Sri Lanka were carried out during the visit.
  • 3. 1999 START YOUNG SCIENTISTS AWARD:
  • I have been awarded 1999 START(Global Change SysTem for Analysis, Research and Training) Young Scientists Award for the South Asia region by the International START secretariat, USA, based on the article titled, "Seasonal variability of sea surface chlorophyll-a of waters around Sri Lanka", published in the Proceedings of the Indian Academy of Science, 2000.
